Kurt, like several other boys his age, is a bean sprout of a child with awkwardly long limbs. He, at 14, is currently about 5’8” but is rapidly approaching 6’0”. On top of his tall body is a boyish face. Little does he know that he will be stuck looking like a tween for many years to come. The boy is Caucasian; he is a mix of unknown Western European origin. He has short, wavy hair that swoops over his forehead like a raven's wing. Moving down, one will notice his predominantly large eyebrows that are balanced out by their gray thinness. To his dismay, his ears are also somewhat large, but do not stick out much.

Kurt visits an engineering facility.

Despite his time in the sun, Kurt is pale in contrast to his hair and has equally-pale blue eyes filled with curiosity. He constantly adapts a wide-eyed expression that makes it appear as if he is intrigued by anything and everything. His nose is a little bit on the wide side with narrow nostrils. No facial hair is present on his face - just a mole here and there. Kurt has thin, red lips that like to hang open more often than he likes. They are so thin that he cannot smile without showcasing a dimple. Kurt boasts an angular, youthful jawline and almost no chin.

Upon meeting, one would immediately label him as a Thunderbird. As the house is meant for adventurers, Kurt physically fits the bill with his constantly-curious expression. He is always getting his nose into the unknown, and likes to take it upon himself to investigate even on the smallest whim. That being said, the boy does know his limits (sometimes). He enjoys to adventure on his own. Kurt prefers to explore solitary because he is scared that he will not be able to keep his teammates safe. If asked why he adventures, he will say that it is because he is naturally determined to get to the bottom of things. But in reality, he also sees it as a way to prove himself. Kurt’s past led him to feel inferior and less than a person.

Kurt makes his first friend.

While he has re-gained most of his confidence, he still subconsciously tries to prove himself as trustworthy. As someone who can be relied on as a companion. That goes on to show his over-protectiveness towards those who have accepted him as a person. The boy will throw his life on the line without question when it comes to the safety of others. Kurt is compassionate even if it isn’t always shown, and every friend whose trust he gains means the world to him. However, if one of those friends were to be removed from his life, he would be horribly devastated. Such an incident would take him off of his feet, and unless he realizes his self-worth, it will take him years to stand up again.

On a lighter note, Kurt is normally the big-brother-figure who isn’t afraid to tell a joke and can even appreciate the little things in life. Currently, one may not see that. He has been at Ilvermorny for around a year, but has had to busy himself with studies due to his late admission, so he has withdrawn slightly. At the moment, Kurt is quiet and shy. He doesn't have any friends yet at Ilvermorny. He just needs people to get drag out of his shell and he will be as Thunderbird as they get. In conclusion, he is like your standard boy protagonist: born to adventure, brave when he feels like it, and incomplete without a team.

Kurt enjoys the big and small things in life, but seems to shy away from the “medium things.” All or nothing. He likes to explore uncharted territories, but does it in such a way that you couldn’t really call him nosy. To satiate his thirst for adventure, you can sometimes find him nose-deep in a book, of which he says transports him to “another universe.” His knack for reading is substantial, leaving him knowledgeable and literate. Kurt can pump out several novels a day if he has the time. The boy can also devour comic books, as he is a huge DC Comics nerd. He also finds pleasure in immersing himself in Muggle television programs about wildlife.

Kurt prepares for an adventure.

Kurt has an affinity for animals. Ironically enough he is allergic to most Muggle animals including cats and dogs (his favorite). The boy likes to collect old coins. Kurt is easily fascinated by the rustling of trees and the formation of a spiderweb in the corner of his window. That could be due to his boyish tendency to get distracted. He also likes to play with puzzle toys. Aside from the above, he has yet to locate his wizarding hobbies, talents, and skills. He will grow into his own person with more specific interests in time.

Kurt is born on a winter night.

While Richmond is known for its large and diverse art culture, it has a dark side. That is where our story begins. Young Kurt was born into a mediocre hospital on a chilly winter night to a military couple with terrible addictions. Thus, he had to be hospitalized and specially medicated for a while before his parents could take him home. He grew up in a stuffy, greasy, and impoverished home. The lawn grass was as tall as Kurt. The sinks broke one by one and so did the toilets. Mold crusted the bathrooms and dust crusted the bedrooms. The car lost air conditioning, yet there was no money available to fix anything.

All the money could do is destroy it through the satisfying of addictions. His parents worked poor jobs, and their yelling joined the dog’s barking that allowed for many sleepless nights under the light-polluted sky. To give them a bit of credit, they did work hard.

Kurt is put in daycare.

Kurt was placed in a daycare for most of his early life. There, it was clear that he had behavioral issues. Perhaps it was due to his unusual birth circumstances, but he stuck out like a sore thumb. He was reclusive, but wild and violent when something angered him. Temper tantrums, the early development of curse words: you name it. Workers and children alike were frightened of the toddler. That was the beginning of his isolated nature. Loneliness was the norm for him, and was left believing that humans function on their own. He grew distant from his parents unintentionally, for they had become unhappy and had resorted to their old habits.

Kurt is enrolled in elementary school.

His parents did nothing to help their son before they sent him off to elementary school. It was at that time his father had to transfer for several months at a time, leaving Kurt alone with his mother and his “temporary dads”. Due to his solitary nature, he gained the tendency to zone out. The teachers and students began to pick on him discreetly, soloing him out as the dumb kid. Everyone thought he was stupid. It was a wonder he didn’t become a delinquent. Lost in his own thoughts and terrors, Kurt became slow and wandered off often. “Where’s Kurt?” became a common question throughout the halls.

Sometimes, he would get lost to the point where he would be found sniffling in a street around the block. Around a year later, the bullying finally reached him on an emotional level. He realized that he was different and dreaded returning there. Kurt's temper tantrums returned at full force, only increasing his torment. Eventually, at the age of 8 a school counselor noticed his terrible mental and home conditions.

Kurt is taken into a therapy center.

Before he knew it, he was whisked away from his home and brought to a therapy center, which is where he learnt what it meant to be human. He developed connections. He discovered what it was like to interact with children properly, and finally learnt what it was like to be the little boy he was meant to be. Kurt made his first friend, a girl four years older than him named Tess. There, she babied him and treated him like a younger brother. She was a key element to his return to humanity, balancing out his personality. He became a quiet and shy boy, but still held his spirit of adventure. A year later, he was given a label by society: functional. Thus, he was taken away from his new friend and placed into foster care. The loss didn't devastate him until later on, for he didn't fully understand what was going on and they reassured him that he would return later. But he didn't.

Kurt is left in a foster home.

Kurt was then transferred to a foster home at the age of 9. He hopped around a few times before he found what felt like his true family. The Gordons were a nuclear family, happy in their white picket fence and a nearly six-digit income. Kurt was treated just like any other kid and got along well with his younger “brother” and older “sister”. The boy attended a different school in a town 30 minutes away from Richmond. That is where his current personality developed. He was allowed to be like the other kids and ride bikes to wherever he wanted. They could play with the animals Kurt so aspired to pet (despite his allergies). Counselling sessions were very few instead of regular, and he could sleep without worrying about how he was going to act around other humans the next day. It was a blissful time. There, he aspired to engineer technology that would make exploring everything from the seas to the sky easier.
He attended several camps and also picked up his love for reading.

Kurt is invited to Ilvermorny.

He first discovered magic (or the magic discovered him) very early on, back in the daycare where the nurses could’ve sworn that the walls shook whenever he threw a fit. It became repressed due to his awareness of his mental state, finally re-emerging on his 13th birthday. Kurt had opened his presents and was relaxing with his “siblings,” the parents having gone out to grill his favorite ribs. His younger brother was trying to play with Kurt’s model airplane, not understanding that it wouldn’t fly. To Kurt’s horror, the little boy did what any model collector dreaded: threw it.

Suddenly, IT happened. The magic came. Before the toy could hit the wall, it began to fly on its own. Propeller moving, wheels turning without a motor – it was the impossible. Mere minutes later, a knock at the door sounded with an invitation to Ilvermorny. His foster parents were pleasantly surprised that he was a wizard, and were put under a magical oath to keep it a secret. It was their right to know, for they were in the process of mailing in Kurt's adoption papers, anyways.

Kurt travels to Ilvermorny.

Even though he would be enrolling late*, Kurt was still accepted and studied very hard over the holidays so that he could enter in the middle of second year, where he made decent grades.

Due to missing an entire year-and-a-half of curriculum and expressing a desire to be with his age group, Professor Liam Ammon sympathized and housed his needs. He supervised the boy's transition to the Wizarding World and transition to becoming a young man. Professor Ammon was a very healthy influence on him. He shared comics and magazines with Kurt and helped him gather his materials while dealing with him psychologically. Professor Lydia Chambers also helped with the process, letting the boy come in for study sessions and with any questions.

Since then, he has been lonely, but not uncomfortable. He has had to study rigorously almost everyday to make up for all the time he has missed, thus isolating himself from his classmates. At the moment, he is only close to the two Professors. He hopes to make lifelong friends now that he has properly established his position as a 4th year Thunderbird and is living his boyhood at full throttle.

*Kurt was unable to get his letter at the proper time and date due to his hopping around foster homes. Though magic exists in all planes, some locations were riddled with darker magic and the letters could not trace his inner wizard. Eventually, he passed into the realm of other Wizarding schools due to his Southern position and ended up unintentionally falling beneath a government barrier that was intended for a Wizarding private school by Washington DC. When he lived with the Gordons, his admission was delayed until his birthday. Whether it was for convenience or some hand of destiny, it is unknown.

Given that he is allergic to all of the other allowed animals, he adopted a Tawny Owl named Archie, after the avian vehicle Archimedes from DC Comics' Nite Owl.
