Name: Farrah Welsh
Blood Type: Halfblood
D.O.B: February 2nd
Favorite class: CoMC
Favorite Hangout: The Pitch during winter for the rink
Event: Huge game of tag
Best Friends: Kellen Mormont
Sexual Orientation: Heterosexual

Character appearance: The most that Farrah had heard about her appearance was that she looked ‘adorable’. Sometimes it was really obnoxious for her to hear, especially now that she was almost a teenager! She had long brown hair with natural red highlights, almond shaped hazel green eyes, a ‘button’ nose, and freckles splashed across her nose. Her grandmother said that she looked like one of those porcelain dolls that people collected, which made Farrah believe that she somehow looked a little creepy. Her features were more of her father’s than her mother’s while her sister was the exact opposite. Growing up in the Muggle world, Farrah was often made fun of for her looks. One nickname that seemed to have stuck with her is 'Alien' because sometimes when she smiles too much, her eyes get a bit big and people felt that she looked like some creep from outer space. She has taken to believe that she is not at all pretty because of the bullying.

She had a slender frame that she held as though she wasn’t sure what to do with it. She has plenty of brand name clothing that her mother picks out for her, but she also has a large collection of graphic tees that have pop culture references on them or themes from her favorite books or television shows.

Character’s personality: Farrah is the eldest of two girls. Part of her personality is to rebel against the idea of being the ‘responsible’ one of the children or the role model. She was five years old when her sister was born, which meant that she had five years of freedom without her sister to steal her thunder. Because of her desire to keep her sister out, Farrah is loud and abrasive at times. She is quick to anger and, depending on the severity of the issue, often had bouts of accidental magic. One bout of this happened in front of her father (a Wizard living his life as a Muggle) which alerted him to his daughter’s abilities. Now that she knows she is a witch, Farrah felt superior to her little sister. Her sister couldn’t have that too.

Aside from her sibling rivalry, Farrah is actually a very bright girl. She enjoys reading and learning, much like that of her father when he was in school. She read for fun, she watched cult shows such as Dr. Who and Firefly, and she loved board games. She is awkward in social settings, but very loyal to her close friends and family. She tries not to stand out too much, so even if she knows an answer, she isn’t likely to raise her hand. Despite her quiet demeanor during class, Farrah loves being outdoors or exploring the area around her. She wanted to take in and learn as much as she could, but not with textbooks. She preferred the experience directly.

Character Background: Farrah is the daughter of Dillon and Emily Welsh and lives a quiet life in a small town in Vermont where her dad was born and raised. Dillon graduated from Sonora along with his twin sister, Zoey. Although Farrah’s aunt went on to continue her Magical education and become one of the top editors of a publishing company in New York City, her father decided to remain in the Muggle world. He met and married his wife while in undergraduate school. They both took a handful of science classes together and ended up in the same study group. Emily graduated as a Nurse and Dillon went on to get his MD as a Veterinarian. Dillon will, on occasion, assist in any needs that a magical creature might need, but otherwise, his practice remains solely for non-magical animals.

Dillon never told his wife of his magical abilities and he thoroughly believed that it would not be passed down to his children as there would be more Muggle than Magic in them. However, after the skittles incident, Dillon realized that he had a lot to tell his wife and children. That was the best day of Farrah’s life! Magic was real? And she had it! Now she just had to make sure that her little sister didn’t also have the Magic too.

Farrah’s little sister was an annoyance. She copied everything that Farrah did and Farrah couldn’t stand it! Farrah liked to ice skate, so her little sister had to also like to ice skate. Farrah wanted to go out with friends so her little sister also had to go out with them. And so on and so forth. Farrah just wanted something for herself and she was truly hoping that magic would be that something.

Besides her love/hate relationship she had with her younger sister, Farrah’s life was relatively normal. Two working parents who rarely fought. Grandparents that lived nearby. Animals everywhere (her dad being a vet allowed for several healing pets around their property). School. Friends. Boys. Books. Movies. Dreams. There was nothing extraordinary about her life. She was hoping that would change.

Talents: Farrah loves to ice skate. Winters in Vermont always had the pond near their property frozen over, which allowed for the neighborhood kids to skate on it. Her parents even went so far as to provide lessons as Farrah seemed rather interested in learning. This is still a skill that she is learning, but she has gotten quite along in the lessons over the last couple of years. Farrah is also well versed in domesticated animals as well as farm animals as she liked to help her dad out from time to time in his animal clinic. Her biggest hobby, aside from ice skating, is reading. She loves all kinds of books, but she really enjoyed murder mysteries.

Boggart: Farrah is terrified of becoming invisible. She may not like being the center of attention, but she doesn’t want to become irrelevant either. Her boggart would become a crowd of people who cannot see her.

Mirror: Farrah doesn’t really have a great desire for much of anything right now. But she would like to see that she is making friends in the Magical world and that her sister is jealous of that because she cannot be included.

Patronus: The patronus for Farrah would be a rabbit. Rabbits have always been her favorite animal and she has a pet rabbit at home that she adores.
