Ariel was excited to go their Ancient Runes class again. She had learned a lot from it last term and she really liked Professor Meyers. He was funny and totally adorable. She like a lot of people already knew that he was with Professor Scribe, which she thought was cute. She liked Professor Scribe too. He was different from most teachers. Ariel left the dorms a little early so that she had the chance to grab something to eat from the Grand Hall before heading off to class. Last time she had forgotten to eat and her stomach rumbled during class. It was super embarrassing.

Ariel walked through the door of the room and glanced towards Professor Meyers desk. On it, rummaging through a box of what looked like runes bags, was a tan colored ferret. Ariel stopped for a moment to study the small creature, wondering where the heck the darn thing had come from. It was adorable! Ariel grinned at the tiny furry thing as she made her way to her seat. Ariel dropped her messenger bag on the floor by her feet and pulled out her notebook to take notes with. If she were lucky, she wouldn’t wind up paired up with Buffy again. Not that she didn’t like the perky brunette, but Buffy would just giver her a headache again and she wanted to avoid that if at all possible.

Ariel was putting her notebook down on the top of her desk and was digging out her quill pen to use when the ferret jumped down off the front desk, changing as he did. Ariel felt the pen fall out of her fingers as she stared at her teacher now sitting on the desk in front of them. “Holy Crap!” Ariel breathed, reaching around trying to retrieve the pen she dropped in her surprise. She felt her fingers brush it before she managed to pick it up off the floor for use. Her teacher could change his shape! That was freakin awesome! Ariel blinked at the guy a few times before she found herself able to concentrate on taking notes for the class. Since she didn’t need to borrow any runes for Professor Meyers, she didn’t have to worry about returning anything to him at the end of class.

Ariel glanced around the room for a potential partner(s) when her eyes rested on the Double Mint Dimwits. Okay...so maybe they weren’t exactly dimwits and it was slightly unfair to continue referring to them as such. They had actually been pretty stellar partners during potions class last term. No bickering, fighting, name calling or cheating….and that was between the brothers alone. That didn’t even count how they dealt with her at all. It had been nice being able to work with the pair without having to worry about them being up to something. Maybe they would some interesting insights as to their current assignment. Once Professor Meyers released them all to go to work, Ariel snatched up her bag of runes and switched seat so that she was sitting right next to the two brothers. Flashing the pair a grin as she sat down, Ariel made herself comfortable.

“So...what methods do you think we should try out of those?” she asked them, looking over the list again. “I’m thinking methods #2 and #4 could be really interesting. What do you guys think?” she asked the pair.

"Tsh; of course we remembered our bags, ae bro?" Damian said while folding his arms over his chest and somewhat leaning back in his chair as their professor started on their day's lesson. Dominic didn't say anything in terms of an answer nor any real sign that he'd even heard his twin speak to begin with. The blonde haired wizard was more or less playing round with his rune bag tie. The nagging want to open it and get started was making his fingers twitch and ache...

The Holger twins had walked into their Runes class eager and edging to get things underway. They found their love of this particular subject was even enough to outweigh their sporting desires...and it was quite shocking to those whom known them to ever hear. The listed methods on the chalkboard were read over at least three times each before Professor Meyers even made his 'grand entrance'. Nifty trick changing yourself to an animal.

"I think the first and last a rather similar in action and would result in possible an identical result" Ian said while properly prepping himself for the task. Nic tilted his head ever so slightly at the thought, but really he'd agree straight off.

"You're right. But I'd imagine with Runes comes in relations to their own neighbouring marks it would be more believable to go with the 4th method and note the symbols that came out together" he replied smoothly. The affirming from his lookalike had that idea sorted. Method 4 was on the list; it was just the other... "The grid is ludicrous and we shouldn't even consider it"

"What?!" Damian's expression was a mix of astonishment and almost hurt. "How could you say that? Our gift to always pick out the stones hasn't failed us yet!"

"I know that but I'm saying it works well with just us" Nic gestured between the two of them. "Adding in another body can change that flow and the feeling. We'd be reading the stone wrong"

"Bro, we never read stones wrong. We'll get around the extra person easy" Dominic wasn't appreciating Damian's laid back approach to a task like this.

"I say we can't"

"Well I say we can"

It ended up turning into a flailing arm grabbing and holds match, concluding when their friend, the well known Ariel Blackburn came to sit at their table. Dominic had managed to get his twin in some demented chock hold one handed. Damian had successfully held off that one at least. Without so much as a second hesitance both boys looked up and grinned at the redhead.

"Hey Gingersnap!" the two said as one. "Come to join us again? Did you like our present we sent you?" Damian continued while still keeping his neck strangle free.

"We've come to an agreement on the 4th alone" Dominic finished for them, unwilling to even loosen his hold.

Ariel hadn’t quite noticed the fighting going on between the two twins when she decided to join the pair for their lesson, but Ariel wasn’t all that surprised to see the two of them bickering with each other when she sat down in the chair smack dab in the middle of them. Ariel grinned at the pair when they both turned to her and called her the nickname they gave her during their first meeting. Ariel chuckled when they asked her about the gift they gave her. She was still highly amused by the gift they had given to her. It was almost like they had gone out of their way to find food items with the word Ginger in the name to give to her. Ariel couldn’t help laughing about the whole thing. It has just been too funny. She had wanted to be irritated about the whole thing, but really it was more amusing than anything else.

Ariel chuckled lightly. “Actually, I thought the gift idea was cute,” she told them. “I especially liked the Ginger Snap cookies that were in the box,” she told them, making herself comfortable as she watched the two boys put each other in some sort of headlock type thing. Ariel raised a brow at the pair on their apparent agreement on just one of the options. They seemed to be set on doing just one of the options on the list. Ariel nodded at the idea, wrinkling her nose a bit. “Aren’t we supposed to be trying at least 2 of the options though as part of the class lesson?” she asked them, ignoring the fact that they still seemed to be fighting with one another. “So if we had to pick one other one to do for the lesson, which one would you both be able to agree on?” she asked them, wanting to move on with the lesson.

Usually getting the two Holger sons to agree on something took no effort at all. They were so like minded it was scary to even imagine them being so opposite. But sadly times do shine through when their identicalness just has its limits.

Class lesson was the lesser of all evils thankfully.

"We're just having a slight disagreement here Gingersnap" Damian said while struggling to get his brother's arm from around his neck. Talking was difficult enough without the choke. "One choice is better than none already right?" he grinned. The blonde haired boy was caught between trying to twist his brother's wrist; an escape if you will to his predicament or the other alternative was to attack Nic's head himself and it then would break...

"What was the idea you said before?" Dominic spoke up, carefully to keep his neck out of Ian's reach. For once the boy had a good solid lock round his twin's body and wasn't willing to give it up so easily. "We've thought up on the 4th. From there things became a little..." there wasn't a need to hint at the result but the two did so anyway. "Maybe you can sort this one Gingersnap"

"Yeah! You can decide on the final choice" Ian pitched in. The two let go at the same time without cause or fear of another standoff; both returned to their seats, clothes fixed, hair perfect and grins adorning their faces.

"So what's it going to be?"

Ariel raised an amused brow at the pair as she watched them continue to headlock one another. "I can see that Mouthpiece," Ariel teased him as she heard Damian pipe up from his position locked under his brother's grasp. It was actually amusing to see Blondie with the upper-hand on his brother for a change. Somehow it wouldn't surprise Ariel in the least to know that Damian probably had the upper-hand on Nic more often than not. Ariel nodded her agreement to Ian's comment. Technically it was better that they have at least one choice made than no choices made at all. Granted, Professor Meyers did say he wanted at least two of the methods tried by the end of class. She would strive to get two methods out of the the three of them, but she'd settle for one if that's all they could agree upon. Besides, she wasn't about to insert herself into the middle of their wrestling match. It would be like trying to break up her triplet little sisters. She did not need to try and re-grow another chunk of her hair back.

Ariel studied the brothers for a moment, giving their question and suggestion a little bit of thought. She literally had to fight to keep a straight face around the two of them as they pretty much abandoned their Mexican Stand-off, fixed themselves up and sat there grinning at her as if they were never fighting. The pair was Nuts! Nodding at the pair, Ariel told them what she had in mind. "I'm thinking the first method sounds kind of interesting," she told them. "With that one, we'd only have to pick one tile for one question." It sounded pretty simple to her.

Sometimes it was the best gift any friend could receive them trapped within death's grip is that of another opinion from a third party. Ian wasn't used to needing said extra person present when it came to his life decisions but this time it seemed quite logical and he'd go with it willingly. Upon managing to get his airway back and less strain on the part of his body holding his head in place, the blonde sat down without a care.

They'd already decided on one method; Ariel chose the other. All was right in the world yes?!

"Alright" Nic replied a nod. "Sometimes it's good to go with the simple test. Do you have any questions in mind? I can only think of one"
Damian was more into setting up his bag of ruins than overthinking the situation. Questions too difficult to answer would only result in more complicated unanswered questions but if he didn't push himself to a challenge it wouldn't result in satisfaction. Dominic was going to test the first method, so maybe Damian should test the fourth.

First he'd have to clear his mind, draw three and then set them out each for a situation. The past one? Could be about their summer. Present...could no doubt be related to their Potions class (or lacking thereof) and the future...well there was something but he wouldn't think about it so much. Closing his eyes and calming his thoughts, the boy reached into the bag and pulled out three ruins. Without yet looking, he randomly placed them in the order he 'believed' them to go and with the bag now put aside the fun of deciphering could begin.

Dominic was more focused on talking with Ariel than his bag. Compared to the second option his method wouldn't take more than a single thought and done. He had a question in mind; something the boy hoped to do not too far into the future and it was something 'hopeful' too.

"Alright, lets give this a try" Nic said while closing his eyes and reaching into the beg. Whatever his digits wound themselves over would be his future...

Ariel was glad when it took minimal effort on her part to get the twins to agree on a second method for them to try for their class assignment. She had no problem with doing the 4th method like they wanted. She wasn't all that hype on running her hand over the tiles and feeling them out, but she figured it couldn't hurt to try it at least. Maybe she would get some type of answer to her question (whatever it turned out to be) and maybe she wouldn't. She had no idea how the whole thing would work in the first place, but was willing to try it at least once.

Ariel shrugged when Nic asked his question on whether or not she had a question in mind or not. of-course he could have been talking to his brother at that moment as well so she wasn't entirely sure. Ariel decided to wait until after the twins had tried both methods before she would try them herself since they all had to do the assignment. She figured if they did it first, she could help them read up on the runes they chose since she already had her book open. Since Professor Meyers wanted them to double check each others work she couldn't see why there would be a problem with her reading up on their runes before she pulled her own,. She still had no idea what questions she would ask anyway so it was probably better that they went first. "So which ones did you get?" She asked Ian curiously, watching as he laid out the tiles for his attempt.
