The massive Auror stood in the middle of the dueling arena, on the full moon painted in the center of the mat and he waited. He had already thoroughly checked over the room the ensure that no one had attempted to sway the upcoming match with charms, hexes or traps of any kind. The match would take place an hour before the Dueling club meeting, so that Cutter could keep his focus on the two boys involved. He suspected there would be an audience for this one, as word would get around that Reko challenged Daniel. Would the other students know why? He was curious to see if red-head in question would be there, to witness her honour being defended.

Once the pair of boys and their audience arrived, he glanced around the room and began with the rules. After all, Daniel wasn't a member and likely wasn't aware, but the Auror had a few extra rules for this match, to help keep the boys in line.

"Good evenin'" He addressed everyone present. "The rules for this match are as follows. One: you may disarm, mute, stun or incapacitate each other, and of course blocking is encouraged. You are not 'ere to cause serious injuries. And don't hit the bloody audience. Two: If either of you are badly hurt, incapacitated or surrenders, the match is over. No funny stuff like faking surrender or injury to strike your opponent when their guard is down. Three: Don't cast something if you don't know 'ow to undo it. Of course, in the 'eat of the moment, you may forget and then I'll step in. I can undo any hex or jinx, but I can't heal worth a toss. So no blood or broken bones. Four: Begin your duel with a bow, turn and walk ten paces. Striking before that will end the match. Five: And this one is important." His gaze moved to Daniel to really drive the point.
"No physical contact. Those are the standard rules. For this match, there's rule six: Break the rules and you will duel me." He raised a brow and glanced between the two boys. It was more of a threat to deter them from breaking the rules. Neither of them stood a chance against the Auror, especially since he could get inside their heads.

"When you are ready, you may begin." He stepped back off the mat and waited.

Reko stepped into the club room like he would any other day a meeting took place. Calmly, confidently and ready to test out his abilities. Duel club the teen joined as a way to test his growing offensive and defensive magic outside the occasional battle with his brother. There was only so much intense fights Reko could take.

The blue eyed wizard had arrived with plenty of time to spare before the match. His eyes caught the arranged area for their duel and Mr Cutter standing ready for them. Reko gave a polite nod to the man again in thanking him for arranging the scene and out of respect of his position. The Horned Serpent may be a sly know it all but he was a young man willing to achieve his goals; no matter the cause. Perhaps within exception such as logistics and justifiable cause and consequence.

Every new face that walked through the door was ignored by Reko until the arrival of the other 'guest of honor'. Daniel. The two were there for their match and it would finally start and end today.
As usual, Reko focused his attention when the rules of dueling were spoken. Hearing them so often wasn't an excuse to ignore the ref at such times. A single slip could cause a dueler the victory. Unphased by the additional rule, Reko set himself up to stand at one end of the mat.

Reko decided to allow Daniel the first move; it was only fair. He was ready, focused and with wand in hand the dark haired boy faced his opponent with nothing preoccupying his mind. If perhaps Cutter decided to invade his senses now, the emptiness might've been shocking.

Ariel had heard through various students in the school that there was apparently a sanctioned duel happening that evening in the room where the dueling club met with each other. Ariel hadn't joined the Dueling Club mostly because she wasn't really much of a dueler. She kind of preferred to show how clever she was without the use of spells being hurled at people.

Ariel was actually curious to see who was dueling with one another and why. Normally she wouldn't really pay any attention to the whole dueling thing, but someone had mentioned one of the boys to duel being dark-haired, blue eyed and maybe in Horned Serpent. She only knew of one boy who fit that vague description….Reko. But why would Reko be dueling with anyone? It didn't make much sense to her until Ariel heard another student talking about the dark-haired boy's opponent.

The girl's description of Reko's opponent sounded suspiciously like Daniel, but why would Reko be dueling with Daniel? Reko doesn't even really know Daniel, so why would he feel the need to challenge Daniel to a duel? The only reason that made sense to her was that Daniel had to have picked on his little sister for Reko to demand a duel. That had to be it. He was defending Serenity. Ariel decided she would go briefly to the duel, if for no other reason then to see Daniel get his butt whipped.

Ariel arrived to the dueling room after everyone else had shown up and found a spot near the back where she wouldn't be readily seen. She caught part of the Auror’s rules and chuckled to herself. She couldn't help wondering if Daniel would be able to control himself during the duel. Her blue eyes took in both boys as the duel began. Ariel wouldn't find out the real reason for their duel until much later.

Daniel hated the situation he forced into. Like a proper person, he knew that he had caused it a bit himself, but Reko was the main reason why he was walking over to the dueling arena. There was even an audience gathering in the room, which surprised him. What if his crush was present, as well? That would make him incredibly nervous. He just wasn’t the best at spells and losing in front of the person you like wouldn’t help it at all. It was as if the duel was advertised around the school... Probably, Reko’s doing. His classmate probably had enough confidence in himself to invite as many people as he liked. The bastard…

When Danny arrived, he noticed that Reko had made himself quite comfortable. The Horned Serpent probably had been there for a while already. The Thunderbird walked over to the spot where he had to be. He was a bit unsure the exact spot but found it eventually. His experience in dueling was limited. During his walk, he could feel Reko’s eyes burning on him. The tall Auror began to tell the dueling rules to Daniel and the audience. He knew that the other boy was a member, so he probably knew them from the back of his hand. Two of the rules made him sigh. The first one was that he had to bow to Reko. After being raised for seven years in a culture that gave bows out of respect, he just didn’t want to bow to the Vitellius boy. There was not an ounce of respect for Ariel’s best friend in his body. Daniel still followed the rule before starting the duel, though. The last and sixth rule didn’t allow him to ignore the bow. It was the rule what annoyed him the most.

After doing the forced etiquette of dueling, Daniel got ready to perform the first spell, but a redhead caught his attention. Her presence made him nervous, even more, nervous than before. He didn’t really know many appropriate for dueling. He knew some, but he was quite bad at performing them. So, he performed a spell that he was more familiar with. A spell that could be considered a prank. The boy pointed his wand at the Horned Serpent, before saying his spell. “Langlock!

Despite the audiance presence and the supposed tension Reko couldn't feel, the duel started off with a good respectful bow; each. Used to this custom, the blue eyed third year did so without much thought but in retrospect perhaps there was the slightest amount within him somewhere very deep. Daniel did keep his word.

The young wizard was already processing his opponent's stance, style and eventually the outcome of their match. His attention was easily distracted; fact given when his eye caught something or more accurately someone in the crowd. Any duelist would've taken the chance and knock Daniel from the mat for a single spell win. Not Reko. Speed of the match wasn't a concern for him today. The length of it was; he needed to see first hand how long the other teen could hold out. His stamina in magic and perseverance in will of mind. Any faults in that and Reko would show no mercy.

Consciously aware of his best friend occupying the room, Reko did nothing in ways of explaining, nor was he going to. As Ariel's best friend he had a right to punish those who hurt her, even if she were to be disappointed in him at least he'd have felt a single moment of worth for doing it. If Reko weren't such an emotionally controlled young man his fists would be white and teeth clenched to a near concerning degree.

"Langlock!"

The spell shot at him with force; surprising feat to the dark haired boy. A single blink later Reko had raised his wand and deflected the attack as it was nothing. He hoped Daniel could do better than that at least. Another try, he'd give him another try. 'Warm up' was what they called it right?

"Flipendo" he said with a calm sternness, the flash of bright blue light erupting from his wand straight at its target. Reko held the expressionless look as he awaited Daniel's next move.

The bastard had blocked his spell with such ease that it annoyed Daniel a lot. The boy clenched his teeth in anger. Couldn’t he just take the hex and be done with this duel? From the corner of his eyes, he knew that some of his former friends were present. They were laughing at the fact that the Horned Serpent had been able to block his spell. Maybe he should go bigger next time, but that would probably end up bad. Most of the more flashier spells were difficult. Too difficult for someone he never dueled and barely paid attention during class. From a distance, it would probably look as if a professional duel person was going against a noob, which was the case. However, he didn’t want to give up just yet. He couldn’t look like a loser in front of his former friends and especially not in front of Ariel.

The langlock spell had been deflected with ease by Reko, and before he knew it a blue light erupted from his opponent’s watch. As quickly as he could, he waved his wand and performed the shield charm. It was a weak one, so the knockback jinx still affected him a bit. For a second, he almost lost balance as he did a few steps backward. Out of anger, he bit his lips. The dark-haired wizard quickly waved his wand again. “Levicorpus,” he said as he shot the jinx at Reko. He hoped that it caused the boy to be hoisted in the air by his ankle. However, Daniel knew that it probably wasn’t strong enough as he was the one to cast it.

Now Reko still had a ways to go before he was confident in his people and facial reading skills but there was one clear indication that his opponent was very unhappy. Angry; Hateful; Pissed off. Yes very accurate. The boy's ears could pick up the sounds of laughter; perhaps mocking if the situation was presented as such but Reko had little care or time to give any care. They weren't part of his duel and if Daniel allowed such tiny distraction to clutter his mind, failure to him.

At first blue eyes were surprised to a shield to somewhat effect taking his spell but that was before Reko actually acknowledged Mr Park as any sort of competition. He was an unfocused student, disruptive and disorderly. If something wasn't his way he'd react in a form he perceived as appropriate. How unfortunate that physical contact here wasn't allowed.

'Levicorpus spell. Perhaps he was paying attention in one class' Reko's mind played through the oncoming scenario with ease; allowing his body to follow through with a proper shield charm to show the other third year what his dueling capacity should be at.

"Might I suggest a stronger spell or change your offensive" Reko's even toned voice called over the space between them before he raised his wand once more "Furnunculus".
The want to bind the boy's mouth shut and end the duel was excruciatingly tempting for the dark haired wizard. Especially as it would give him such satisfaction at knowing Daniel would not only be unable to continue dueling; effectively losing the match in a spectacular fashion but also humiliated before a large group of his school peers. It would be the deserving payback for what he brought onto Ariel.

But that wasn't in Reko's honourable dueling contact. Face your opponent until the end. Whenever the blue eyed boy decided that would be.

Reko’s face pissed Daniel off so much. He didn’t know why. Perhaps the combination of Ariel’s presence, his former friends’ presence, and just that specific face. A face he rather wanted to punch than duel against. A face that always blocked his spells. Couldn’t he just take a hit? “I don’t want advice from a spoiled brat like you,” he said. Danny focused on the wand of the bastard. He wasn’t going to lose in front of all of these people. It would be too embarrassing. The Thunderbird heard the voice of his opponent say ‘Furnunculus’. He wasn’t about to get pimples all over his face.

His mind was filled with anger for the boy that tried to humiliate him in front of his crush and his bullies. Somehow, he managed to do knock-back jinx instead of any defensive spell to protect himself. His wish to throw Reko out of the arena had probably been too big. Instead of the Horned Serpent, Daniel was the one that flew back as the spell had been badly performed. His back hit the wall of the room. He felt something breaking, which hurt like crazy. Besides that, his skin was doing weird things. “You got to be kidding me,” he mumbled, noticing that pimples started to develop on his entire body. His body felt too weird and painful to stand up. Besides, he could hear the loud laughter of the entire crowd, including his classmates, his bullies and probably also Ariel.

Crap,” he cursed. His eyes started to water, so he stared at his feet. It hurt his neck a bit to look down. However, he didn’t want Ariel to see him in this condition.

The match was wildly off balance, as Reko was better at dueling. The Auror bounced back and forth between the boys heads, constantly checking for intent. It was strange to find Reko had no thoughts rolling around the surface. It was a little unsettling. Daniel on the other hand, hated that he was there, especially with his little girlfriend in the audience. Cutter did feel a little bad about the situation, but as an adult in the school, he couldn't let the attempted assault slide. The sanctioned duel had to be better than any punishment either one of them would receive for the earlier altercation.

As the referee, the Auror watched the match carefully, his thoughts jumping to the counter spell required as each one was cast, ready as he may be needed. The audience seemed to be enjoying the sport, watching Daniel get his ass handed to him. The kid needed help and if Cutter was going to be around in the next term, he would offer it. Honestly, he hoped for the kids sake that the duel wouldn't last too long.

Cutter picked up the pain Daniel was in, and immediately stepped onto the mat between them.
"Match is over due to injury. Reko wins." Cutter moved quickly to approach Daniel, his wand was ready to fix the more obvious issue. "Stay still. Don't need anything getting worse." A silent spell reversed the effects, as he searched the kids's thoughts for what hurt. Nothing that he was equipped to fix. "Let's get you to the 'ospital wing." To avoid jarring anything, Cutter used a spell to levitate and carry Daniel.
"That's enough." He stated clearly, to quiet any laughter down. "Dueling club will continue as scheduled, once I return from the 'ospital wing." The paintings in the room would report any misbehaving students while he was gone.

"Off we go, kid." Keeping Daniel afloat, his wand dancing with focus on the spell.
