The Entrance Hall
As you come to the doors of the castle, marble statues of Isolt and James can be seen on either side of the door. The Entrance Hall is circular room with a glass cupola. A balcony one floor above the ground circles the room where the older students sit to watch the sorting. In the empty space are four large wooden carvings; the Horned Serpent, the panther Wampus, the Thunderbird, and the Pukwudgie. These are the four houses.

The first years step onto the Gordian Knot that is found in the middle of the stone floor. When the student steps on the knot, one of the wooden carvings will react if they want the student into their house or not. The Horned Serpent has a crystal on its forehead that will light up, the Thunderbird will beat its wings, the Wampus will roar, and the Pukwudgie will raise an arrow.

After the sorting is complete, the students will move off to the Grand Hall for their Welcoming Feast. Off of the Entrance Hall, you will find Corridors, Secret Passageways, and Empty Classrooms for some staff and student fun.

Classes
Get to class! Get house points! Be good little students. Please note that every classroom has a portrait of one of the founders or previous staff headmaster/mistress or valued staff member who has a matching portrait within the Headmistress or Deputy Headmistress's office. There are no 'true' secrets within these walls.

The Grand Hall
As you enter the Grand Hall, the first thing you might notice is how warm and inviting the atmosphere is. The cold stone walls of the castle are forgotten as the many beautifully designed fireplaces are lit with fire's light. High above are circular windows that allow for sunlight to poor through during the day and starlight to be seen in the evening. Plants and painting of former headmasters/mistresses and staff line the walls, giving the room a more homey feel than a cold castle.

There are four long tables that fill the empty space of the room with magical candlelight to add to the atmosphere. Above each table is the banner with the House Crest on it. These banners are only present for the Welcoming Feast. Students from each house will sit at their assigned tables for their first night and welcome the newly sorted students into their house. After their first night, students may sit at any table.

The staff table sits along the front of the room so that they can be seen by the students and they can see the students.

Horned Serpents
Sometimes considered to represent the mind of a witch or wizard. It is also said that Horned Serpent favours scholars.

Horned Serpent Commons are located on the top floor of the school and hidden behind the statue of a Knight. Students have to do the secret handshake of the month with the Knight statue in order to be granted access to the the commons.

Each common room was a mirror image of one another and resembled that of the Great Hall considerably with the roaring fires everywhere, protraits/paintings, and plants. There was no specific color theme in any of the rooms, keeping more to neutral tones or with colors of the school mixed in. The house symbol was present in the common room and each dorm room, etched into the fabrics or as a statue or painting in the room.

The common room is furnished with several tables for studying, gaming, crafting, or conversing. There are several overstuffed chairs and sofas around the room, plenty of space for the students to kick back and relax after a hard day of classes. The dorm rooms are the same for each house and year. There are large canopy beds with down comforters on top and curtains around it that the students can tie back or leave down if they wish for privacy. Each student has a wardrobe and a desk to create their own little space with. A bathroom is attached to each dorm room that roommates have to share but is private from anyone else.

Thunderbird
Sometimes considered to represent the soul of a witch or wizard. It is also said that Thunderbird favours adventurers.

Thunderbird Commons are located in the highest tower. There is a statue of a Pukwudgie named William the school's first caretaker. Students have to poke with their wand in just the right spot to get the statue to step aside and allow them entrance. The spot is never the same, so the students have to remember where it moved each month.

Wampus
Sometimes considered to represent the body of a witch or wizard. It is also said that Wampus favours warriors.

Wampus Commons are located on the first floor on the opposite side of the castle from the Grand Hall and is hidden between two portraits of cats. These cats are picky though and you have to ask permission in the nicest of ways while complimenting their fur coats. If you catch them napping or in a mood, and you'll only receive a hiss in return.

Pukwudgie
Sometimes considered to represent the heart of a witch or wizard. It is also said that Pukwudgie favours healers.

Pukwudgie Commons are located deep in the heart of the school and the entrance is hidden behind a portrait of many different faces. The students have to find the correct face in the portrait in order to enter. The faces move regularly, so the face is never in the same spot.

Mount Greylock Forest
The school sits at the top of the mountain and is surrounded by the lush boreal forest of Mount Greylock. The forest is thick with balsam fir and red spruce trees; but beyond the trees are the many magical creatures that call this forest their home. Students should take caution should they decide to take a walk in the woods...
